It’s a common knowledge that mass and machine-made rugs lack a unique personality. And what’s worse than filling your home with ordinary or identical pieces that others can get their hands on?
The familiarity of squares, rectangles, Straight lines, and right angles makes them easy to use as the base of a design or as a frame.
Squares and rectangles make us feel safe and contained. They give a sense of stability, reliability, but also easily fall to the background, and the feelings they convey are mostly subliminal.

As most handmade Moroccan rugs are made with wool, these fully natural fibers are able to withstand a lot of abuse. Wool has a lot of lanolin oil naturally in its fibers. When the fibers are cleaned, it brings out the oil even more. Many people report that their handmade area rug looks better than the day they bought it after they wash it the first time. that’s because of the natural lanolins in the sheep’s wool that causes this effect. Usually, a very mild detergent is used when cleaning a rug-making the process of cleaning also an eco-friendly process.

What happened to a normal rug when you use it for a long period? Yes, we get rid of it, but it is not the case with a (Handmade, well dyed) Moroccan rug.. Its value increases with time so that it can be a precious legacy for the family in the long-term. Just Google “Moroccan vintage rugs” (The real vintage ones) and you will be shocked by the prices.
